On the Night of Cyclone

Melancholy filled all my face,

Life went at zero pace,

While the weather went all a haze,

I Envy the winners of the fair-life race,

Candle light is the only source,

Nature played with a loud force,

I felt the mobile in its place,

With no sms from her to spark a blaze,

Wind hustles and rains pour down,

While the winter woes kill me drown,

Memories gallop to a déjà vu,

There she appears my medicine for flu,

That awesome feel when we are near,

Never really repeats with anyone else dear,

Filled in the aroma yet scenting a fear,

Longing the words that we await to ear,

Then unfolds that cute little smile,

Recovering from which took me a while,

A picture perfect indeed that would get a million fb like,

Exactly the same that gave me the knockout strike,

All of a sudden there was a loud thunder roar,

Spoiling the dream deep under; leaving me sour,

30 minutes on the clock for a new day,

No sms yet left me at bay,

With the Mobile hidden under the blanket wool,

Something says I am not in the forbidden list of guys made fool,

Indicator shows a dip in charge,

Perhaps a sign of sms on verge,

Then the inbox showed a string new,

Nay! that’s a Good Night message from the usual few,

Dropping lids seldom despair,

Born was a new day on the same respire,

Then came that message : “ Hi 🙂 you der ?”

Wasting no time, sent that smiley crystal clear,

Then the seconds ticked with fear,

Soon came the reply : “ Love you too dear :* “ .

Enjoying Life- the key to Success

Atlast got my day off from college to earn ( I Bunked, thats the only possible way with Sairam Institutions) a much needed break from a month of eventful happenings that squeezed my energy – Placements, Unit tests, Re-tests, Presentations, Passport . And now , Yes I am back, Back again to the Blogosphere with a bang- BIG TIME.

When I sit down to write this article I see the transformation in me , a kid who had computer dreams- the Microsoft dreams, who studied at late nights, who finished his assignments and never saw the happy and colourful lighter side of life, a kid who lost his happiness to the stressful Indian Education System.

Err wait, gone are those: “Enna Valka da idhu” “Enna koduma Saravanan” days.

Enough of peelings 😛 Now welcome to the world of  JALSA SALSA, BAJJAN , BAJJAN Bala kumar 😉

Cheers, Credits to dear Lord Venky Govinda , Chetan Bhagat and Krish Ashok gone are those days, gone are those monotonic stressful days ( Ena pudicha sanniyan olinjidu 😛 ) I have transformed, transformed into a “Matter Man with MASALA” : flunking Class tests, doing mad things, looking at the Pournami Nilla* and shouting “ooooohhh” , morphing Emraan Termin face to Mankatha Ajith, whiling away life with a dozen super gang friends ( that  includes super figures to some sensational sappa figures ) , cheering people , fighting in the long canteen queue and still gloating , doing the same old Peter uttufying, this time blending with local tamil and the most important of it all living with a bigger “Google” dream , I am Happy , Iam a Happy Mad Man placed in HCL technologies singing  : “RAJA NAAN RAJA EN PETTAI KENDRUME RAJA” .

Coming to the point that I want to emphasize to the readers of this necessary-Nonsense , the following are the links that I feel each and every one of us should take deep into our hearts

1) Chetan Bhagat Symbiosis speech . ( Given a chance to make posters to stick on my room , I would quote each and every line that this man spoke )

2) Krish Ashok TedX SSN talk ( Ignited and gave me the spark to go Mad )

3) Chetan Bhagat Vogue article

” Iam the only one from my entire IIM-A batch sitting with his kids on a wednesday afternoon and having Icecream – Its totally worth it” – yes its totally worth it because he followed his dream, he never lost the spark that he had and this is that essentiall quote which goads me and lingers when ever a Mobile and Pervasive computing , Environmental Science and Engineering or a Computer Graphics professor puts me to sleep with their Engineering lectures that ultimately helps in getting anything ( even the marks , All local author text books are the God of every Engineering student in Chennai)

LIfe as I see  it now is to enjoy, meeting interesting people, making new friends, preserving old friends, fighting for silly things, talking with mom, fighting with sister, running and chasing your brother, giving dad a doubles in a bike, poking girl/boy friends, falling in love, setting priorities, not loosing hobbies and the most important of it all laughing , laughing as loud as one can, doing mad things- ultimate nonsense , being creative, being unique, being simple with a Billion dreams 🙂

Being a poet myself I would rather conclude with Vairamuthu lyrics:

“Nooru Kannavugal Kandale aaru Kanavugal palikatha

Kanave kai seruma”  or in English with my own scribbled work .

*pournami nilla = New Moon

Anthem for the Troubled Youth

Anthem for the Troubled Youth

The passion that brought about the Spark

Drives us to make that epic Mark

Hurdle came in through our “Euphoric” education System

That drenched and robbed us of our wisest Wisdom

Dumb we are, with these mugged-up mock

And no great men from the past carried on with it to rock

Parents, Principals, Chairmans and Chancellors force for an exemplary Score

Out of a system that feeds mere facts and nothing More.

Dozens of Chetan Bhagat’s may point out the Flaw

Yet, the Nazis of this “Extraordinary” system would never change their Law

For victims who rise up and Scream:

Please, Please, follow thy Dream ! ”

To the billions who are shattered Apart:

Go ahead and pursue thy Heart ! ”

Diwali Wish

Before the small carol that I came up with I’d like to share  a wonderful thought that I read in the web today, forgot the source and it says : “Hiss off and celebrations for Obama visit when we suppose to celebrate Diwali ,will the Americans damn a care when our PM visits them during Christmas? ” Common Indians its Diwali, shout, jump , smile and spread joy!

Celebrations in the air,

And its that time of the year,

When we don’t bother about the ears,

Let sweets fill the tummy,

Don’t forget to give a hug to your mummy,

Light up the diyas,

And a bouns if you get any divas,

Smile, Sparkle and glow,

All of these came in a flow 😀

Happy Diwali to all 🙂

Break-up to become a Billionaire

When I suppose to study for my semester exams with just 6 more days for the kill, I was easy enough to freak out the IMDb website and have a look at the box office hits.

“The Social Network” captured my attention and I finally made a quick download and sat down to watch the two hour piece of history from Mark Zuckerberg’s life, produced by the Columbia pictures. The Movie portrayed the life of a typical software engineer attaining success and preety much it did justice to its caption “You don’t get to 500 million friends with making a few enemies” .

Atlast at the end after a quick contemplation, I found something queer and attractive enough to attain success in life. Though it may not be be new but still in the long run people have forgotten it to be honest. The Modern Mantra that I am Chanting upon is: “Break-up with your Girl/Boy friend(s) to become a Billionaire” !

Looking back at History all great Scientists: Einstein, Bohr, C.V Raman and now Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg they all attained success because they had a break-up! Hence Contemplate, be wise, give a thought and success should be yours: “Break-up to become a Billionaire” !
Good luck 🙂

The Beginning Of Lust!

Love at First Sight

The Beginning Of Lust

In the sweetness of the setting sun,

Rose a face filled with fun,

Dressed simple in charming rose,

Was fascinated by a romantic pose;

For the rest of them it is Twilight,

But to me it’s a true delight,

Time for some laughter followed with a unique smile:

So too I with the thought that home is just a mile.

Hurray! Clouds start to pour down:

For some unknown reason the smile turns into a frown.

The driver starts to speed,

Making me to ask “Whats the need?

God! A beautiful rainbow show up,

And then that hand goes pointing up;

What a sight in and out,

Someone here has been bowled out!

Just a minute is left to get down,

Hence the faces go brown;

Prepared to bear the pause,

For no reason or cause,

At last decided to step out:

But even now cannot makeout;

Turned back again to interpret and guess,

Haahoo! The people inside started to tease both of US.

IN The Deepest Of Sleep

In The Deepest Of Sleep

In The Deepest Of Sleep

IN the deepest of sleep, in dream

Twinkled a face with a golden beam

The ambience is silent despite the rain

The same face yet again

Why does she bring in Pain?

T’is thought ponders again.

She is lovely pretty and cute

The melody continues on a pleasing note,

All of a sudden I am totally mute

Is she the one to change my life?

Is she the one to be my wife?

Who is this lovely girl?

Who puts my heart on a whirl?

What camera do I need?

To capture her face swift and speed

Her voice sounds sweet

Flashed a thought “Am I neat?”

All set to start the talk

Before she decides to go for a walk

Here I come one.. two.. three.. honey!

And then my darling disturbs the sleep asking Money!

From School to College first year to College second year

A thought of comfort that just keeps lingering that “All these toils and boils are just temporary and an exciting future lies ahead”, use to sooth and relieve me when I had the most difficult of times with Chemistry and after all those toils I finally got into a decent college and hurray I am college going now :). The excitement continued for a week or so and then Chemistry, Engineering Graphics, Physics made me to say “What does these things got to do with computer science and engineering”. A mock now and then at the Indian Higher educational system seems to lonely pleasure I derived after taking the course I liked the most and still not getting what it was supposed to offer.

New ambience, different lifestyle, new people, new friends, a couple of months passed by. The Semester exams began, dint give my full effort yet managed to get a surprisingly 88.9%. Then the second semester started and a protest by the law college students that made the government to shut down the colleges for a couple weeks, earned me with useful holidays. After the holidays the second semester commenced and this time Basic civil and mechanical engineering bored me. Bricks, cement, concrete, stress, strain, turbines, dams, motors, boilers made me to ask the same question “What does these have to do with Computer Science and Engineering”. Again the same thought of the comfort “All these are just temporary” managed me to force it out and get through the exams.

And all of a sudden, just after a week I am a second year UG, a senior in the college now! The thought that I will have juniors surrounding me asking some silly questions with eager looks, with enthusiastic approaches trilled me. But still a cloud of mist covered  my thought of clarity and I was convinced that second  year is not gonna be any different from the first year as I already had a notion that Indian Higher educational system has a whole is useless. A look at the Syllabus revealed Data Structures, Digital systems, Analog and digital communication, OOP, Mathematics and Environmental Science as the portions. “OOP, DATA STRUCTURES, DIGITAL SYSTEMS” all these sounds great but when I went to the college the situation was otherwise this time the problem was with the teachers who are useless and do not know what they are teaching ( that’s another minus that Indian Higher education system faces) and I have to learn by myself, well that’s what I am doing ever since I stepped into higher education. The problem now is, if I go deep down a subject I’ll be more of a pro, for the syllabi deals only with the portions of a rookie. Anything on the answer paper that is above the scope of the prescribed syllabus and the textbook leads to loss of valuable marks (Yuk that’s the plight of the Indian Higher educational System :()

Now the question arises: “In the quest for a good future am I supposed to go by what seems to be my dream and the future technology or simply go by the outdated syllabus that will assure me of a reckless and a dis-satisfied job that’s keeps me grumbling always? “Almost every single one of us should have asked ourselves the same question in some part of time”.

Well I am certainly gonna go with my brain, which is the right way to go and follow my dreams. Passing these local examinations is not a herculean task, even a brush up a week before the exams gets you above 80% . So all fellow folks who are facing the same plight: “Follow up your dreams”!

A KINDA FUNNY AND THE MOST MONOTONOUS DAY IN MY LIFE

Adopting the strategy that myself and my friend Yuvi came up with, I was quite determined not to open my mouth on the first day of my college. A power cut in the morning, when I left for my college was perhaps an indication on what lies Ahead for the later part of the day.

My college is a kind of Jail and many hard and fast rules like “No to Jeans, No talking with Girls……” etc were strictly followed. The first bell rang Hmm to say the truth it was a Siren( Reminding me that I am in a Jail), I was very desperate that it shouldn’t be chemistry and then a teacher entered he introduced himself as “The Senior Lecturer of ECE and he’s gonna handle the Fundamentals of computing and programing” 🙂 Huh hooh That’s the subject, were I am very strong , for I am an ADJP and a MCTS in the making. The teacher started with the definition of a computer (from here the comic part starts)..These were his exact words “A Computer is an electronic machine that processes instructions called programs to give an Output” This definition by itself gave me an idea that his teaching style is somewhat gonna be like concentrating more on beginners (Off course, that was bearable since 50% of the students took Biology in their Higher secondary) And then, the “Characteristics of a computer”: My Goodness 😉 “No IQ, No Sense, No Feelings” these were some of the characteristics of a computer according to Him 🙂 ( I Was musing within and trying my level best to control the excitement).

Then after sometime the siren alarmed!. Its time for Physics (My favourite subject), followed by Maths. Both were quite interesting except for the fact that the maths teacher was very soft and was not audible.

Then it’s time for English, unlike the other English teacher’s , she was very interesting and encouraged conversations and discussions among the students ( I was quite determined to plaster my mouth to get a feel of the class and their elegancy in the language, and then if in case I was called, not to disclose that I was the English Literary Association Secretary of my school, was the thought occupying my head 🙂 ).

Girls stood out as expected for I’ve  already analised their Elegency through IM”s and Orkut, but to my surprise only two were “OK” from the “Boys” side. And one girl, whom I thought, would gonna give a run for my money, to my surprise din’t turn up( May be she was not herself just like me, keeping quiet). And among the boys one went on and said that he “Aspire’s for microsoft, want to do a MBA in IIM…..”. I mused that I got my perfect mate in the class, as some of my “Aspirations” coincided with his!.

But during  the Lunch break when I enquired, I found that he got his seat through management quota and he is very poor in his studies and when there was any subject question he didn’t open his mouth. Ok a lesson learned for the day that “Never to trust anyone by their words”.

The next period was “Engineering graphics”, the teacher was very boring and the fact that Lunch was just some 30 min before made me feel sleepy. I was sleeping with my eyes open and now and then would afford some head shakes to give her the impression that I follow her 🙂 . Atlast she accepted herself that the subject is boring. But the highlight of the hour was her “Title Block”. My Goodness Just to write the name in the right bottem corner of the drawing sheet rather the “Plate” to be technical she gave some 1000 instructions. A home work to write the Alphabets measuring 10,7,5 mm in height not once but thrice also added to my agony.

What does drawing is gonna do when my course deals with computers, this really explains the stupidness invoved in Indian Educational syllabus. And then, while travelling in the Bus returing home, I was just contemplating whether to post about “The most Monotonous day in my Life” on my blog.

And then I decided to…………………………………..!

Chemistry the subject full of Mystery…!

If at all there was any Subject

That I found very Difficult

Then without any Mystery

Its name is Chemistry..!”

The same set of Equations

Repeats itself for 101 Reactions

While the Inorganic part starts with Hydrogen

To My Computer Brain it seemed like life without Oxygen”

Methane might start-off the organic Part

But my bad times with it can never Depart

Aluminium, Bronze, Copper and Gold

Still my repugnance to the subject can never go Old”

Diamond might be the metal that can Glow

Well the difficulty I had in drawing its structure can never just Blow

All those Chemistry lovers who say: ‘How Dare’

Still I am least bothered to Care……!”

Did you like it then just go ahead and read this one also written by another friend of mine Yuvi: http://desicritics.org/2008/05/22/004038.php..

Please don’t take it as a repugnance, for everyone in this country have their independence…!
